Chapel Hill High School Athletic Booster Club Scholarship
Athletics at Chapel Hill High School (CHHS) has always been a very important part of student development. In national studies, sports participation has been associated with a wide array of positive outcomes for high school students and young adults. The lessons students learn through high school athletics develop the traits and skills needed in their personal and professional lives.
The CHHS Athletic Booster Club has historically awarded a $1,000 scholarship to one senior female and one senior male who represent the highest ideals of CHHS athletics. Consideration is given to the applicant’s athletic success, dedication, sportsmanship and leadership, as well as academic achievement and character. Winners are recognized during the CHHS Senior Awards Program in May. The following are details of the 2018-19 program.
Applicant must be a graduating senior who has participated in CHHS athletics in an interscholastic varsity sport for at least two seasons, with at least one during his or her senior year at CHHS, and has complied with the CHHS Code of Conduct. The applicant must be accepted to a recognized institution of higher learning (college, university, technical/vocational school or institute). Due to National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules, a student who receives a full scholarship to any institution is not eligible to receive the ABC Scholarship, as funds can be used only for tuition at the institution where the senior will be enrolled.
